SENIOR PRODUCER / DIRECTOR
Born and raised in New Jersey, Nick is a proud graduate of Rutgers University. His high energy and passion for work and for life in general is legendary. It shines through in everything he does. And he’s done a lot!
As Nick says, “I have a passion for good storytelling whether it is a documentary, television commercial or series, corporate or educational videos.”
Producing and directing for networks like A&E, PBS, HGTV, CBS, NBC, The History Channel and the BBC has taken him all over the country and the world. Recipient of three Emmys and countless other industry and festival awards, Nick is a highly respected and much sought after producer and director.
He loves his New York Giants, Yankees and Rangers as well as his adopted team, The Jacksonville Jaguars.
Daily motivation? “I am a proud husband and father of two sons!”
Kyle Summerall
INTERACTIVE MEDIA
Kyle is a multi-talented technologist and writer/producer. His fascination with building, maintaining and expanding computer systems has kept Spectrum ahead of the curve in a digital age that is transforming the media world at a dizzying pace.
“I’m here to make sure we do everything we can to maximize the effectiveness of our clients’ message in the marketplace. That means matching the right technology with the right message,” Kyle says.
Under his guidance, Spectrum has become an industry leader in the creation of digital media. “We are the first in Florida to author and master DVDs, Blurays, interactive distance learning and training, multimedia presentations and video compression for any and all web delivery platforms.”
In addition to all of his other duties, Kyle gets great satisfaction from keeping Spectrum’s large bank of high-end computers and digital systems running and humming.
PATRICK HERBERT
SENIOR DP / CAMERA OPERATOR
If Spectrum is out shooting videos that’s where you’ll find Patrick. Commercial, documentaries or corporate videos, Patrick believes it is important to collaborate with the other members of their talented team.
“I try to shoot not only for the production but for the editors as well. I’ll give them choices because I know they may have another perspective when it comes to the look, pace or feel of a project,” Patrick says.
He also believes that one of the best assets the Spectrum team brings to each project is their “can-do” attitude. And that attitude is responsible for Spectrum’s ability to exceed their clients’ expectations on every project they work on.
Patrick is a native Jacksonvillian, happily married and blessed with three nutty but loving children.
Beth Soles
WRITER / GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Beth started out as one of Spectrum’s favorite clients when she worked in marketing for a financial institution. A graduate of Western Carolina University with a B.A. in English, writing and editing, she added graphic design to her long list of skills after she got her diploma.
After deciding she wanted to change careers, she made a call to Spectrum. Nick Furris says this about Beth, “Creatively she is a natural. After working with her for several years we knew we wanted her to work for us.”
Beth says the move was the best thing she ever did. Whether it’s working with graphics or words, she enjoys being part of such a creative team.
Jeff Green
DP / CAMERA OPERATOR
Jeff’s career at Spectrum has taken him all across the country and the world on documentary, corporate and business-to-business productions. He started his career in the early 1990s as a Camera Assistant loading film on “Movies of the Week” for ABC, CBS and Fox. Worked his way up to First Assistant, then transitioned to video as an OP and Director of Photography.
Jeff’s passion for his work shows and Spectrum relies on his to give 110% to any production project he works on. He loves what he does and enjoys spending as much time as he can with his two children.
ANDREW WATT
SENIOR EDITOR
Take a look at his edit suite(it has more video monitors than a sports bar) and you know you’ve walked in on a guy who loves his work. A proud Seminole with a degree in Communications, Andrew has pushed the envelope in editing and visual effects at Spectrum since 2006.
“I try to understand what my clients want, then use all of the technology and skills at hand to deliver more than they ask for,” Andrew says. The result is videos that bring smiles to our clients’ faces and more customers to their doors.
When he’s not working, Andrew enjoys music, Crossfit®, traveling and, most of all, spending time with family and friends.
David Smith
EDITOR
Born and raised in Jacksonville, David is a graduate of the University of North Florida. A natural born storyteller, he finds creative ways to tell his clients’ stories through clean visuals and dynamic music. His laid back personality hides the fact that he’s always thinking about new ways to improve his ability to communicate effectively.
Clients and coworkers alike find him a joy to work with.
In his spare time he soaks up film and music and enjoys the great outdoors with his wife and dogs.
RYAN RIVENBARK
EDITOR / WEB DESIGNER
Ryan has worn many hats during his career. The first was a chef’s hat when he worked in Wilmington, North Carolina as a culinary manager and executive chef for upscale restaurants. Realizing his creativity couldn’t be confined to a plate, he turned to his true love—the art of film.
Ryan moved to Jacksonville where he received his B.A.S. in Digital Media.(Summa Cum Laude). During his student years he produced a number of films including the award winning short film, Trapped.
After graduation he produced commercials and motion graphics for the Jacksonville Sharks Arena Football Team.
Multi-talented. Hard working. Ryan is smart and all his clients agree he is fun to work with. Spectrum is fortunate to have him as part of our team where he excels in motion graphics, graphic design, web design, editing, photography, videography and animation.
Graham Brinton
TECHNICAL DIRECTOR / COORDINATOR
Prior to working at Spectrum, Graham worked in about every production and broadcast position possible. Starting out in 1968 working the cameras at Penn State Instructional Television he moved on to studio work and remote production to editing and operations post production.
He pioneered fiber optic commercial distribution in 2000, then added studio guests in 2001. He has also coordinated studio “hits” to all parts of the world including England, Australia, Japan, Canada, Qatar and the U.S.
And, as Graham puts it, “I feel blessed and proud to have provided technically sound feeds and exceptional service to just about every major broadcast and cable network in the world.”
Ron Weaver
DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT / GRAPHIC ARTIST
Ron is definitely a multi-tasker. Before joining the Spectrum team he worked for 18 years as a graphic artist and art director at a large local medical supply company. He feels that his creative side definitely works well with his business persona. “It really helps that, when I’m talking to a new business prospect, I can draw something or show something that the client can relate to. I can’t imagine going out there selling without that extra talent on tap to help,” he says.
When he’s not working, you can find him hanging out with his wife and two children, rooting on the Jaguars or catching a few rays and waves at the beach.
ANDREW FURRIS
PRODUCER / AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY
Andrew graduated from Belmont University in Nashville with a degree in Entertainment Industries Studies and a minor in Film Production. Three weeks after receiving his diploma Spectrum hired him for his first professional job—in Crete, Greece!
Proud father, Nick Furris, says this about his talented son, “Andrew has always shown a great aptitude and attitude towards the hard work this business requires. He’s versatile: able to shoot, edit, pilot a drone or create compelling graphics.”
Andrew is a true professional. He always works towards achieving the highest quality work and performing his duties as a valued member of the Spectrum team.
What does the future hold for this talented young man? He wants to produce and direct feature length films.
Kristen Diaz
WRITER / PRODUCER
Writing and public speaking have excited Kristen since she was a kid.
She started her career in television news working for stations in Iowa, Georgia and Florida. She reported, anchored, produced and wrote copy for websites. Many of her stories made the headlines internationally and she has received many prestigious industry award: The Edward R. Murrow award and an award from the Associated Press to name just a few. In addition, her work was featured on CNN, CNN Headline News and Fox News.
At Spectrum she’s expanded her skill set to producing, writing, corporate videos, web hosting, website writing, voice-overs and documentaries.
“I’m so thankful I get to do what I love at Spectrum, “she says.
She is married to Juan and has two children, Daniel and Dianne. When she’s not working or taking care of the family she enjoys sewing and exercising.
Murphy Stidham
PRODUCER / PHOTOGRAPHER
Multi-talented. That’s what comes to mind when you talk to Murphy. She earned her B.A. in Journalism and Documentary Production at Flagler College. At Spectrum, she fills a number of different roles: producer, photographer, videographer, reporter and editor.
“Having a background in a number of different disciplines definitely keeps things interesting. But my greatest passion is for writing and telling captivating, compelling stories,” she says.
That hunger for telling a great story and doing great work has translated into solid relationships with her clients. And she has portfolio of standout projects that any seasoned pro would be proud to own.
As Nick Furris says, “Murphy does great work and her clients love her. We’re glad she’s working with us.”
BRANDY BERRIER
COMPTROLLER
Brandy is one of Spectrum’s original employees. Starting with the company when they opened in 1999. She describes her work this way, “Someone has to keep the numbers straight!” She is Spectrum’s top Comptroller, bringing with her over 27 years experience in business tax and accounting.
Prior to Spectrum, she worked for a variety of companies: retail sales, international freight and cargo and spent 10 years working in a CPA’s office.
When she’s not crunching numbers for Spectrum she’s off spending time with her family, enjoying dinner with friends or is somewhere in or on the water.
